History & Construction - - - Gull Dinghies are a class racer, a two person racing dinghy designed by Ian Proctor. (He designed the Topper, the Wayfarer and more.) Equally good as cruising dinghy for family sailing and can carry four or five children or an adult and two children. Easily launched and sailed single handed. Length 11'. Comes with mainsail and jib. Central mainsheet position which is better for single handed sailing. This is the fibreglass version, there was an earlier wooden version and later GRP moulded versions. Quite spacious inside, (the man sailing in the photos is over 6' tall). Extra buoyancy has been added with inflateable airbags. The dinghy can be motored with an outboard motor too if required (motor not included). Oars and rowlocks included. Rows well. Comes complete with trailer for towing and a launching trolley with three wheels, so has a front steering wheel, making it easy to use. Comments - - - Easy to sail, and fast too.
